Hi there! I’m Douglas Clawson - one of the several talented agents here at Oak Story Realty. My wife and I, Aerial, also an agent with Oak Story Realty, both ventured into this field for a couple of reasons. First, I’ve been in your shoes during several transactions over my lifetime. I’ve experienced some less-than-ideal sales agents who didn’t return phone calls, didn’t answer my questions, and made me feel like just another box they were checking in their career path. That created a feeling of anxiety and despair when it came to buying and selling my properties. Then, I met Kurt, who made the buying and selling process seem so easy and stress free, that I became hooked on real estate. Kurt became such a close friend and mentor that Aerial and I asked him to be the minister of our wedding ceremony. Not many people can say their broker married them!

Secondly, I’ve spent my career serving the public in a variety of capacities from being a firefighter/paramedic, to a police officer and later a criminal investigator. From those experiences, I’ve learned great communication skills, how to be a servant to the community, treat people with respect, dignity, honesty, and transparency. People often just want to understand the process, have their questions answered, and feel that their situation is important.

From those life experiences, I’ve brought these skills into the real estate business by going above and beyond, communicating effectively and often, and emulating how Kurt made me feel during my transactions.
